We all know that a techie’s favorite thing to do is to go out and network with people. Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of attending an event with our local Kelowna MP, Stephen Fuhr along with the minister of small business and tourism – Bardish Chagger. The event took place at Kelowna’s prestigious CedarCreek Estate Winery on one of the most beautiful days this year.
We managed to walk around and meet various individuals from organizations such as Accelerate Okanagan, and other marketing companies in Kelowna. There were also other politicians from all sides of the political spectrum in attendance. At one point of the evening we spoke to a kind gentleman who we had spoken to for about 15 minutes before realizing that his name –Cipes – was on our favorite sparkling wine. We even heard the anecdote of how the wine got its famous name. If you’ve never tried the Cipes Brut sparkling wine from Summerhill winery, do yourself a favor and purchase a bottle. Words from the Kelowna MP
When Kelowna MP Stephen Fuhr and Bardish Chagger got up to speak, they brought to light all the hard work our representatives are doing to promote this great city. They discussed some areas of growth in the small business sector of Kelowna, and also painted a bright future of economic growth in our community. I remember my husband looking over at me and telling me that for the first time he realizes that we live in quite possibly the greatest city in an already amazing country. A country where we are able to explore and start up small business all while having a government that is really looking out for us and routing for us to succeed. It really does feel like now is the time for change, and we’re looking forward to that change greatly.
